iShowcase Connection
While everything you've learned about yourself and career pathways is still fresh in your mind, you will now use this time to put together a summary of your experiences from today into your iShowcase presentation. You need to include the following information into your iShowcase media (slides/poster/or whatever format you are using):

6th Graders:
You will be asked to show in writing in your presentation:
1. What your top 3 strengths are,
2. what they mean to you, and
3. how you used at least one of your strengths in your Genius Hour Project.
Use your "What My Strengths Mean to Me" worksheet from period 2 as a reference.

7th Graders:
You will be asked to show in writing in your presentation:
1. What your top 3 Holland codes are
2. what they mean to you, and
3. how you used at least one of your codes in your Genius Hour Project.
Use your "Career Key Assessment Results" worksheet from period 2 as a reference.

8th Graders:
You will be asked to show in writing in your presentation and share aloud:
  1. In the "Learning Style/GRIT" section of your iShowcase, include an example of one of your top STRENGTHs (from the Strengths Explorer Assessment) and how you use it at school

  • Example: I learned that one of my top strengths is "Relator." This means that I like to connect with people and build relationships. I use this strength at school when we do group work. I have an easy time working with others and dividing up the work in our group so that everyone participates.
  1. Under the Beyond High School section of your iShowcase, include a brief description of a career you explored today with your reasons on why you want/do not want to pursue this career under the career/job section
  • Example:I was considering a career as pastry chef after high school. Completing culinary schooling after high school sounds interesting to me, especially since I am planning to take Food Preparation courses at Madison. I am really interested in baking, but I am not sure that this would be a good career for me. I learned that pastry chefs are on their feet all day. I do not think I would not enjoy the physical demands of this position every day.
